Thought this was the sequel to the Quentin Tarantino / Jamie Foxx movie. 
Not as good as the jamon bellota samples at High Times Cellars this afternoon .
BTW, went to the Irvine Gelson’s for sushi today and was blown away by the quality. Young Japanese female sushi chef. Tuna is akami, king salmon, blue crab for the rolls, and 10 beers in tap. Hidden gem of Irvine.

If you're looking for "pretty" mochi for gift box, Chikara is walking distance down the street:
Also on the same street is Meiji Tofu:
Tofu made fresh daily in the morning.
And Japanese style cakes at Nagomi that sells choux au craquelin:
Sadly Croissants Du Tokyo in Tokyo Central is no more.
About a block away is Sakae Sushi, about as old school as it gets. Take out only, call ahead to order (made fresh).
