Does altair/ portola springs/ elevate area get more rain than the rest of Irvine??

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Not sure if we have a meteorologist here, but my daily commute is through Irvine Blvd from West to East.
Quite often, and today as well, there is no rain/drizzling from the start, then it's pouring around altair/ portola springs/ elevate area, then when I reach Alton Pkwy, it's clear again.
Wondering is it my illusion? Why it's like that??

It could be completely random, but it could also have to do with the fact that the foothills are right there and creating a microclimate. I find it also often rains more/harder around Quail Hill, Turtle Rock & Ridge, University Park, and sometimes Woodbridge and Oak Creek closer to the 405 & University/Jeffrey exit. Maybe due to the hills and open space.
