Everyone should be worried since he's looking for ways to deport U.S. citizens.Anyone worried about these deportations?
I have friends who are actually concerned about this. And they don't eat dogs or cats and aren't in an El Salvador gang.
Except if they express an unpopular opinion or get a traffic ticket or thought they were legal because they've been checking into immigration for 25 years with no problems.if they aren’t illegal, then they got nothing to worry about![]()
I'm worried about how dumb this comment is.Everyone should be worried since he's looking for ways to deport U.S. citizens.
Are they concerned about being deported themselves or them not allowed back into the US if they travel abroad?Anyone worried about these deportations?

Yes.Are they concerned about being deported themselves or them not allowed back into the US if they travel abroad?
I think you are skewing this a bit to your favor, but here is the actual facts:Regarding Abrego Garcia, a couple of facts worth mentioning about this "Maryland father" since there is so much misinformation floating around:
An immigration judge in 2019 denied his request for asylum but granted withholding of removal status such that he could not be deported back to El Salvador because of “the presumption of a well-founded fear of future persecution”. Legally, he could be deported to any country other than El Salvador. Even Abrego Garcia's attorneys acknowledged in a court filing that “The government could have chosen to remove Mr. Abrego Garcia to any other country on earth, just not to his home country". That was the error that was made by DHS.
Abrego Garcia claims he has never been a member of MS-13 yet sports tattoos favored by MS-13 gang members. Notice how legacy media outlets all use the same close-up picture of him that does not show the tattoos on his arms. A police informant had identified him as an active MS-13 member; something that two immigration judges reviewing his case deemed credible. In his asylum request, he claimed fear of retribution by the Barrio 18 gang in El Salvador as the reason why he shouldn't be deported to El Salvador. MS-13 and Barrio 18 are big rival gangs in El Salvador.
Abrego Garcia is NOT a US Citizen. He is currently a green card holder but he was an illegal immigrant when detained by ICE in 2019. His wife married him while he was detained by ICE. When Trump declared MS-13 a terrorist organization, it gave DHS the ability to deport Abrego Garcia due to his being a member of MS-13.
Like two other people found out, being a green card holder does not guarantee you the ability to stay in the US. According to Google, green card holders (lawful permanent residents) can be deported. While a green card provides permanent residency and the right to work in the U.S., it doesn't guarantee permanent protection from deportation. Green card holders can be deported for various reasons, including criminal convictions, fraud, or other grounds such as terrorism, espionage or activities that pose a threat to national security.
P.S. Abrego Garcia's wife has filed two protective orders against him since they got married; both orders were for domestic violence. Let's see how many media outlets mention this as it doesn't fit their narrative.
From the Politifact article: "There is no evidence that Abrego Garcia is a terrorist. As we noted above, it’s unproven that Abrego Garcia is a member of MS-13 and therefore a terrorist after the gang’s foreign terrorist designation."I think you are skewing this a bit to your favor, but here is the actual facts:

The facts behind Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia’s deportation
President Nayib Bukele and Trump administration officials misled about Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia’s case, who the U.S. mistakenly deported to El Salvador.www.politifact.com
He has not been proven to be a member of MS-13 but we can assume so. He has a protective order from deportation to El Salvador, and has not been convicted of any crimes. He has not been convicted of domestic violence (and no, he doesn't get a pass from me on that but it's ironic that those "protective order" hold more weight than the one that gives him immigration relief).
To be honest, I do think it was an oversight and I wouldn't be fighting to get him back either, I would be doing what Trump said, let El Salvador arrange sending him back.
I've read how Trump is using executive orders to skirt our democratic institutions and how it's illegal and unconstitutional. Since Jan 20, Trump has issued 124 executive orders (EO 14147 through EO 14270). Biden issued 60 executive orders during his first 100 days. Did these same critics of Trump using executive orders voice the same criticism over Biden's executive orders? Of course not; its partisan outrage. Fun fact: FDR holds the record at over 3,000 executive orders. The worry that many of us have is how things are being skirted. I am pretty sure that if a Dem president was throwing around this many initiatives and tariffs you would all be screaming bloody murder... as would I... but I would be screaming no matter who is in office.
While I do admire the action... there is a due process for all of this that needs to be adhered to or else we just become a dictatorship (and I'm not saying that as rhetoric from the blue side... just as a concerned citizen of a supposedly democratic government),
I think what Trump said was that he wants to send American criminals to El Salvador prisons, if it is legal. Of course he could care less if it’s legal or not.If I respond to what I deem is a factually inaccurate post or posts I usually have done my research on the subject matter. In this case CalBears may have been repeating what AOC has said about Trump deporting US citizens. No truth to that statement but many people believe every word she says.
Free speech? He’s deporting people based on speech. He’s cutting off funding based on speech. He’s removed books from military bases based on the authors’ speech. He’s deleted entire government website pages because of words that were banned in his executive orders. Transparency? No one has a clue what DOGE is doing of why.I've read how Trump is using executive orders to skirt our democratic institutions and how it's .
As for concerns Trump will be a dictator, name me one dictator who has advocated for free speech, transparency and a smaller government. Think about it, there are enough people in power in DC that will stop Trump or anyone else from becoming a dictator. We have equal branches of government with a system of checks and balances for a reason.
There is no legal pathway to deporting a US citizen. The media would like you to believe Trump will flout the law. Keep in mind the moment he does that articles of impeachment will be filed. As I mentioned before, there are checks and balances.I think what Trump said was that he wants to send American criminals to El Salvador prisons, if it is legal. Of course he could care less if it’s legal or not.
Who did Trump deport based on speech? He cut off funding to universities that did nothing to stop antisemitic hate speech. First amendment does not protect against hate speech or incitements to violence; both of which are present at these pro-Hamas/pro-Palestine protests. Trump has prohibited the military from promoting gender and race ideology amongst other things. The military has enacted programs pushing certain ideology that has nothing to do with the core mission of the military. Participation in these programs is not optional. This goes beyond free speech. Imagine the military forcing a muslim to participate in Sunday church services. Is that free speech?Free speech? He’s deporting people based on speech. He’s cutting off funding based on speech. He’s removed books from military bases based on the authors’ speech. He’s deleted entire government website pages because of words that were banned in his executive orders. Transparency? No one has a clue what DOGE is doing of why.
I would hope so.There is no legal pathway to deporting a US citizen. The media would like you to believe Trump will flout the law. Keep in mind the moment he does that articles of impeachment will be filed. As I mentioned before, there are checks and balances.
