Homes you have toured/looked at/want/wish to have outside of Irvine (outside of OC is cool too)

[quote author="caycifish" date=1254183256]This one looks like something out of a horror movie. I hope a lonely, elderly lady with cats doesn't move in. She'll be the neighborhood "witch" in no time.

Reminds me of this top heavy house:

Do you want to hear the story of a very lonely and paranoid woman who lived there?

My wife and I have agreed that 23832 Via Roble would suit our needs.

I haven't ask mine, but I doubt she'd complain.

The accounting firm I work for is reorganizing, and with new leadership in new places it has created some openings for Finance geeks like myself. One of the slots to fill is in Minneapolis. Because I grew up there they asked if I might interested. I've been in So Cal since 1995, and have married into a SoCal family so I've kind of adopted So Cal as my new hometown --- but the thought is intriguing nonetheless, particularly since my whole family is still there. Sorry for the long back story, but wanted you to know why I was looking at houses in Edina, MN. For $479k, something like this would probably work for us. Interested in your thoughts on this one, BK?:

By the way, Edina HS was ranked 91st in Newsweek ranking. UNI was 156th in the same survey. Not that I check that stuff or anything...

How about this one? It's in the Somerset tract and also built by S&S (Shapell, Inc).

i actually visited this home, it was interesting, not for me. it was great for entertainers in my opinion, huge kitchen, big master bedroom downstairs. upstairs was just odd however, there is no 'master suite' upstairs as they say, and if i recall there was one bath for 3 bedrooms upstairs. upstairs was essentially a landing that led into three doors. anyway, it was a kind of weird layout...not for me.

Yeah USC, I know all too well those winters --- and I'm not the one to be getting up at 5am to shovel snow out of the driveway. There is probably about zero chance we would actually take the offer, unless they told me it was move or pack up your desk (and even then I might take my chances) --- but it certainly is fun to think about the possibilities....

nice! 8400 sq lot, across the street from the park. too bad it lacks the detached rear garage that the one next door has, though.

what do you think it will list for? 973 Arbor went for $378k this summer, but is/was a fixer.

[quote author="graphrix" date=1253978539] The other thing about this place is there was a huge crack in the drywall upstairs in the middle of the hallway. To me it looked like the wood beam had warped over time from being wet wood, but I would like to get a better opinion on the matter before I place my offer of $900k on the place
Do you think the wood beam got wet from rain, or something else ?

I creeped up and looked at the 8 x 11 pages in the windows... for lease 2/1 call Alex Kim. No price. Not sure why it's being called a 2/1 as there should be third bd and there is a casita in the back. It's been updated so perfectly! You would love it Freedom, especially if it were for sale at $300K :). I just love Arbor, Whittier, the upper end of Republic around there. I think BK might even approve of many of the homes and the whole feel of it.
